Call for Scores
7th Annual Festival of Contemporary Music

New Music Forum is proud to announce the call for scores for the 7th Annual Festival of Contemporary Music.  This year the two-concert event will take place on Saturday, August 8, 2009 & Saturday, August 22, 2009 at the Community Music Center in San Francisco.  Composers are invited to submit up to two (2) works for consideration in any of the following categories:

1.    Solo: vocal or instrumental
2.    Chamber ensemble: up to ten (10) performers
3.    Two-channel works for digital audio media (on CD)

Submission packets should include:
1.    1 copy of the score (do not send parts now)
2.    1 copy of a recording of the piece, if available, on audio CD or cassette
3.    1 copy of the completed registration form.  Downloadable as a PDF from newmusicforum.com

Your piece(s) will not be considered without the registration form.

Composers must provide performers for the selected works. The FCM artistic staff can provide names and contact information of performers; however, it will be the composer’s responsibility to make all necessary arrangements for performance and compensation. Upon selection, composers will be asked to provide a brief biography, performance notes of the piece and parts, if necessary. Submitted works and materials will not be returned.

Attendance at the festival is required. If you are unable to be present at either of the two programming dates, please do not submit an entry. You do not need to be present for both dates.

Selected participants will be required to submit a registration fee of $20.  Do not send the fee now.

Deadline: Friday, February 13, 2009, postmark

Composers of the selected works will be notified around April 15, 2009, via email.
