I decided to start this blog as a way to organize the research I have been doing for my dissertation.  I also wanted to give people the opportunity to better understand the relationship that exists between color and music.  This blog is in no way a definitive or exhaustive research into this field.

It is my hope that this blog will engender discussion that will help lead me to further research in this field.  I encourage readers of this blog to comment and to suggest further readings.  Sometimes research can be exhausting and I tend to over look articles or books because people have written a lot about this topic, but not all is pertinent to my studies.

I also encourage readers to suggest music for me to study.  I am pretty well-versed in the music of Messiaen and Scriabin(, but I am definately open to discussion about thoses composers and why you think the color and music relationship does/does not existing in their music).  I would like to receive suggestions about other composers who have dealt with color and music or synaesthesia.

However, this is NOT the place to make comments like "That's bullsh*t" or "Lies! All lies, I tell you!"  You can disagree with what I post, but please give solid reason as to why you disagree.  Research includes trying to look at a topic from all sides and to understand why certain aspects of the research may be incorrect.

All I ask is that when you read this blog, you post helpful comments (even if they are contrary) so that I can take my research one step farther.  Of course, you don't have to comment.  You can just sit back and read the words I type and hopefully you learn something more about color and music.
